The Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, was full of cheers on Sunday as the Harambee Stars defeated Zambia in a thrilling CHAN 2024 clash. But while fans celebrated the big win, popular content creator Ruth K, known for her past relationship with comedian Mulamwah, walked away with more heartbreak than joy.
The influencer revealed that her iPhone 14 went missing as she was leaving the stadium. Taking to Instagram, she shared her frustration and pleaded for its safe return.
“Mixed emotions today. Kenya won and I was overly excited, but sadly, I lost my iPhone 14 while exiting Kasarani Stadium. If anyone finds it and returns it, I promise a reward of KSh 30,000. It has my unposted projects.”
The post immediately went viral. Many fans sympathized with her, saying losing a phone is worse than losing money, especially when it holds personal and creative work. Others, however, couldn’t resist throwing jokes, suggesting she should just buy another one or that it might all be a publicity stunt.
The growing cases of theft around major games have sparked concerns about security at stadiums. Despite heavy police presence at Kasarani during the Kenya vs Zambia match, Ruth K’s loss shows personal belongings are still not safe in big crowds.
For Ruth K, though, the match will always be bittersweet - a national victory overshadowed by the personal pain of losing her most important gadget. Now, all eyes are on whether someone will take up her KSh 30,000 offer and return the missing iPhone.
